Bertrand Cantat a fondé le groupe qui joue le rock dans les années 80.
"Veuillez rendre l'âme (à qui elle appartient)" est leur deuxième album. La chanson "Aux sombres heros de l'aimer" qui vient de cet album révèle le groupe au grand public.
Je pense que vous connaissez sa chanson la plus populaire "Le vent nous portera"qui s'est vendue a plus de 250000 exemplaires. Cantat coopère avec plusieurs musiciens francais, par exemple avec Alain Bashung. Au début de sa carrièrre, Cantat tire l'inspiration de Jim Morrison du groupe the Doors, en portant comme lui les pantalons en cuir et les colliers indiens. D'autres inspirations: the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the Clash, King Crimson, the Cure...
Le lundi 29 mars 2004, Cantat a été condamné pour l'homicide de Marie Trintignat a 8 ans de prison. Elle a été tuée après la dispute avec son amant Bertrand.
En 2008, le groupe a retourné sur la scène. La fin du groupe est daté sur 2010.
